US Study Trip with Greving Landmaschinen

44 customers of our firm set out on a dream-like study trip to the US for a fortnight. In addition to a visit to the John Deere Plants Waterloo and Moline, the visitors got an insight into the American agriculture.

Not long ago, 44 customers of our company enjoyed a dream-like agricultural study trip to the U.S. The participants not only got to know the marvellous landscapes and famous American cities, but also learned how John Deere machines are produced and got a glimpse of agriculture and farming in the American style.

After landing at Chicago Airport, the first highlight of the trip was the visit to the John Deere plant. In Waterloo we watched the modern production of tractors from120 to 500 HP. After that, we went to Moline and visited the John Deere combine harvester plant and the Deere & Company central headquarters lying in an idyllic landscape.

On our way to chicago we visited an intensive grain-growing farm with an agricultural area of more than 8000 hectares. From one of the world´s highest buildings - Sears Tower in Chicago - we enjoyed, in wonderful weather conditions, a stupendous view of the skykine.

From Chicago, we flew to Las Vegas, the colourful gambling town in the middle of the desert. A breath-taking flight over Hoover Dam and Lake Mead took us to the Grand Canyon. After that, we travelled from the desert to the most fertile part of California, to Bakersfield. There, our program offered two more visits to different farms: one was "Harris Feedlot" with 100.000 heads of cattle, the other a typical dairy farm with 1.500 milkers. Then our trip went westwards to the Pacific Ocean and to the dream road of this world, the No. 1 Highway. The round trip ended in San Francisco with its famous Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, the prison island.

These experiences and impressions of the land of unlimited possibilities will stay for a long time in every participant´s memory.
